PALMYRA - Walter D. Isaacsen, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Health Services. He was born May 3, 1915, in West Allis, to Isaac and Anna (Ericksen) Isaacsen. He is a retired maintenance worker from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and had operated the Isaacsen Bros. Trucking in Palmyra. He was a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children, Janice (James) Northey of Dousman, Judy (Wayne) Pinnow of Rome, Darlene (Harry) Garlock of Palmyra, Shirley (Harold) Witkins of Hayward, Jean Isaacsen of San Antonio, Jim (Sonja) Isaacsen of Palmyra, Patty Goudreau of Palmyra and Peggy (Russell) Schroedl of Fort Atkinson. He is further survived by 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Mary and Caroline; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Meta; his second wife, Bernice; two sons, David and Kenneth; a brother; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Palmyra United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Lipka officiating. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of service Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Palmyra United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated. Mealy’s Funeral Home, (262) 594-2442, is serving the family.
