KERRVILLE, Texas - Mary Lynn Gilliland Keenan, known to many as "Mickey," died at her Kerrville residence Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at the age of 76. Mickey was born Nov. 22, 1924, to V. Rawlins and Edna Coker Gilliland of Coleman, Texas, both now deceased. She lived most of her adult life in Waukesha before accomplishing her longtime goal of returning to Texas for retirement. Mickey was an enthusiastic poet, artist and an avid animal lover. She served as a member of the Human Services Board of Waukesha County and was also the vice chair of the Sesquicentennial Committee of the city of Waukesha. Prior to enjoying a career as a real estate broker and member of the Waukesha County Board of Realtors, Mickey spent many years as an executive secretary to cheif executive officers of area businesses and to the presidents of Carroll College in Waukesha. Mickey was the beloved wife of Paul Keenan and cherished mother of Carolyn (Tony) Kaboord, Kathy Keenan and Paula (Fred) Jones. She is further survived by her loving granddaughters, Katie, Elizabeth and Annie, as well as by many friends and family members. A memorial service for Mickey will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Brookfield Congregational Church, 16350 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, with Dr. Rich Wolf officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030-9962, or to the Elmbrook Humane Society, 21230 Enterprise Ave., Brookfield, WI 53005.
