BROOKFIELD - Harriet Cruver, 96, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Woodland Health Care Center in Brookfield. She was born Oct. 7, 1904, in Eagle to Charles and Carrie (nee Burton) Cruver. Harriet graduated from Waukesha High School in 1922 as valedictorian and attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Carroll College, Marquette University and Northwestern University. She was a school teacher in the Waukesha area for 39 years and served as a supervisor for six years in the Waukesha County Public School System. She was a member of the local and state of Wisconsin Teachers Association, the Waukesha Business Women, Eastern Star, Southeast Wisconsin Supervising Teachers Association and the Baha’i faith. She is survived by her brother, Myron Cruver of Menomonee Falls; a sister, Bette Munger of Walworth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister. Baha’i faith services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 103 Eagle St., Eagle. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Jericho Cemetery (Highway E), Eagle; please meet at the cemetery. Memorials to the Jericho Cemetery Association are appreciated.
