WAUKESHA - Resident Joyce L. Sturgeon, 78, of Waukesha, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Woodland Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Eagle to Delbert and Grace (nee Britton) Stubbs. On Dec. 15, 1945, she married Robert J. Sturgeon in Eagle. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

She is survived by her son, Richard "Rick" (Laurie) Sturgeon of Waukesha; her nephews, Delbert (Jan) Stubbs, Bill Stubbs, Charlie Stubbs and Gordon (Kim) Stubbs and their son, Mike; her nieces, Colleen (Bill) Akin and their son, Steve, and Paula Purdy and her children, Crystal and Jeff. Other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends further survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on Jan. 18, 1995, and her brothers, Laurel and Milo.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., with services there at 8 p.m. The Rev. Dwain Olson will officiate. Following the services, the body will be cremated with interment of cremated remains at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
