WAUKESHA - Darlene M. DeMarsh, 58, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Darlene was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 14, 1942, the daughter of Gilbert and Mildred Ponik. She was an active member of St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church since 1971 and a member of the Christian Women. She was also a student in theological studies at Cardinal Stritch College . Darlene will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert DeMarsh, whom she married Sept. 7, 1963. She is the loving mother of Linda (Matthew) Zilles of Waukesha, Debbie (Tim) Bisswurm of Bloomington, Minn., and Chris (Kim) DeMarsh of Sullivan. She is the dear sister of Mary (Terry) Stryjewski of Broadhead, Thomas (Anita) Ponik of Mercer and Michael (Kathy) Ponik of Beaver Dam; and dear grandmother of Jarod, Madeline and Jacob. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, cousins and loving friends. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee; the Rev. Tom Venne officiating. The visitation for Darlene will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, and Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The parish vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
