Elroy O. Butzke, 79, of Kewaskum, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.

He was born Sept. 7, 1920 in the town of Auburn, the son of the late Louis and Hannah (Arndt) Butzke and on May 3, 1940 he was united in marriage to Lucille Backhaus at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum.

Mr. Butzke was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. He was employed by the West Bend Co. in West Bend for more than 30 years and was a member of the 25-Year Club.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lucille of Cedar Lake Health Care Center; two sons, Robert (Carol) Butzke of Slinger and Thomas Butzke of Green Bay; four daughters, Bonnie (Thomas) Skrentny of Sun Prairie, Mary Woolman of Winston Salem, N.C., Jan (Rev. Robert) Laubenstein of Green Bay and Kelly (Dr. Craig) Rosenthal of Lomira; 11 grandchildren two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating. Private burial will be Friday in Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. at the church only Thursday.
