| Oscar A. Beder, 79 Oscar A. Beder, 79, of Jackson, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Slinger, to the late Anton and Mathilda (nee Hassinger) Beder, and married Rita T. Spaeth on April 29, 1944, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend. Oscar owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Polk until retiring. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, fishing, gardening, wine making and was an avid sports fan, a snowbird to Texas, and devoted family man. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger and the Legion of Mary Rosary Society. Survivors include his wife; 11 children, Anthony (Alice), Mary Beder, Michael (Janet), Gerald, Kathleen (Stuart) Wiedmeyer, Anne (William) Wenninger, Robert (Theresa), Dennis, Mark, Joseph (Julie) and Janice (Douglas) Yee; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Krebs; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were daughter Darlene; son, Richard; and two brothers, Jacob and Edgar. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 27, at 8 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Father Robert J. Bales will officiated, and interment was at (Old) St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Slinger, on Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. Visitation was at the church on Monday from 4 p.m. until the Mass.
