54 John C. Mondon Jr., 54, of West Bend died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at St. Josephs Community Hospital in West Bend. He was born on Jan. 11, 1945 to John Sr. and Avis (Fenton) Mondon in Wyandotte, Mich. He married Paula A. Rogers on Sept. 1, 1971 at the Church of God Tabernacle in Detroit. Born and raised in Wyandotte, Mich., he attended Greens Barber College of Detroit. After serving with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, the couple married and moved to the West Bend area where he was employed as a factory worker at the Gehl Company of West Bend for more than seven years. He was the piano accompanist and Sunday school teacher at Paradise Drive Church of God in West Bend, where he was a member. He is survived by his wife, Paula; two children, William (Doris) Dutton III of Milwaukee and Teresa Mondon of West Bend; a niece, Dory Mondon of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren, "Billy" William Dutton III and Gage John Mondon of West Bend; and a sister, Marianne Mondon of Greensboro, N.C. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was held at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, Dec. 23. Funeral services followed at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Shingleton and Pastor Robert Rogers officiating. Interment took place at the Southeastern Wisconsin V.A. Cemetery of Union Grove on Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. |
