Bernice E. Schickert, nee Theisen, of West Bend, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend, at the age of 81.

She was born July 28, 1918, in St. Michaels to the late Math and Mary (nee Bingen) Theisen, and married George M. Schickert on Nov. 21, 1940, at St. Michael's Church.

After their marriage they settled in West Bend where she worked for The West Bend Co. for many years.

She was a member of The West Bend Co. Retirement Group, The West Bend Co. 25-Year Club, the Legion of Mary at Holy Angels Church in West Bend and the Christian Woman Society at Holy Angels Church.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Joan Schickert of Richfield, Minn., Bill (Ann) of Silver Spring, Md. and Jim (Dee) of Plover; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Lucille Petri of West Bend; a brother, Alfonse (Mildred) of St. Michaels; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Theisen of Kewaskum and Clara Theisen of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Jerome Repenshek will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.
