| Carl E. Beck, 81 Carl E. Beck, 81, of Adell, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend. He was born June 3, 1918, in the town of Barton to the late Albert and Anna (nee Lang) Beck, and attended Holy Angels School and West Bend High School, graduating in 1936. On June 20, 1942, he married Dorothy H. Sauer at Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend. The couple farmed the family farm in West Bend until 1948 when they moved to the Adell area and continued farming. In 1965 they built a home on a 40-acre wooded section of land. Carl started working at Tecumseh Products in Sheboygan Falls, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Adell, since 1948 and served as a parish trustee for many years. He continued to be active in the church, helping whenever needed. Carl had an active retirement becoming a skilled woodworker, creating many beautiful furniture pieces for his family. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ralph (Jean) of Grafton, Jerry (Janet) of Random Lake and Ron (Linda) of Kewaskum; four daughters, Karen (Bill) Breitzman of Campbellsport, Joanne (Larry) Herzberg and Diane (Dale) Goschey, both of Random Lake and Mary (Bob) Andrew of Harrison Township, Mich; 11 granddaughters; nine grandsons; two sisters, Angeline Schladweiler of West Bend and Margaret Schrauth of Chico, Calif.; a brother, Eugene (Rose) of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Malinda Beck of West Bend and Agnes Gundrum of Allenton; a brother-in-law, Art (Annabelle) Sauer of Thorp; nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a brother and three brothers-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Adell, with Fr. Richard Cerpich presiding. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., and also Tuesday at the church only from 10 a.m. until the time of services. |
