Buck Weis, 85 Raymond "Buck" Weis, 85, of Campbellsport, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at the St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac. He was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Campbellsport, to the late Henry and Anna (Kraus) Weis, and married Margaret Haegler on Feb. 7, 1934, at St. Matthew's Church, Campbellsport. Ray operated a grocery store in Dundee and then moved to Campbellsport in 1948 and was the owner-operator of Weis' Tavern. Ray enjoyed hunting and especially camping and fishing at Star Lake with Art Berge and John Meyer. He was a member of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Dept., the Campbellsport Lions Club, St. Matthew's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Tavern League Association. Ray sponsored a number of different teams and enjoyed bowling for many years. Survivors include his wife; children, Jerome (Bev) of Loveland, Colo., Eileen (Don) Klein of Kewaskum, Barbara (Eric) Falk of Campbellsport, Mike (Sheila) of Campbellsport and Marjean Weis of Campbellsport; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Valeria (Leo H.) Ketter of Campbellsport, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a son, Lewis, and a grandson, Joseph Klein. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport, following a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. Rev. Francis Malloy will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to St. Matthew's Building Fund or St. Matthew's School. |
