L. Schwartz, 81 Thelma L. Schwartz, nee Young, of West Bend, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at the Samaritan Health Center, at the age of 81. She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Stanley, to the late Clinton and Emma (nee Rahn) Young and married Carl G. Schwartz on July 2, 1938 in Chicago, Ill. After her husband's death on June 19, 1979, she moved to West Bend. Thelma was a very loving and simple person who led a full life. Her life experiences taught her discipline which was a factor in many aspects of her life. One of her passions was to paint pictures and portraits, which were handed down to her children. She will be loved and missed, but also remembered fondly by her family and the many friends she made through her church affiliation and the Senior Center. Survivors include five children, Carolyn Molitor of Socorro, N.M., Barb Walter of Hartford, Diane (Pat) Horlamus, Joe (Kathleen) and Mike, all of West Bend; 14 grandchildren, Lisa (Tracey) Becker, Tony (Kathy) Molitor, Amy (Daryl) Anderson, Steven Walter, Cortney (Jeff) Newman, Jenny Carron, Jamie Carron, John Horlamus, Lorrie Horlamus, Michelle LaPlant, Mike Carron, Andy, Sarah and Lynette Schwartz; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Marino of Joliet, Ill.; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were a sister, Bernice Nickel, and a brother, Donald. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m., at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with Rev. Debbie Pecha officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Abundant Life Church. |
