Dick Heisdorf, 54 Richard "Dick" Heisdorf, 54, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at St. Lukes Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born Dec. 11, 1945, in Kewaskum, to the late John Sr. and Arcella (Wolf) Heisdorf, and on April 25, 1970, married JoAnne Schmidt at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend. Dick loved to dance, and always had the "right moves." He was a sports enthusiast and was the head umpire of the West Bend Softball Association, a member of WIAA, a dedicated softball and basketball coach who refereed basketball games, and refereed for Holy Trinity School for many years. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, where he served as a Eucharist minister, was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus Father Caspar Rehrl Council 1964, West Bend. Dick served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum. He was a 27-year employee of Slesar Glass and Gallery Inc. in West Bend, and was a master gardener. Dick was a loving and devoted person who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Melissa (Ryan) Degnitz of Wausau, Kristine (Dan) Bastian of West Bend, Jennifer Heisdorf and Rebecca Heisdorf (special friend, Brad Wenzel), both at home; a grandchild to be born in March, 2000; two brothers John Jr. (Joyce) of West Bend and James (Susan) of Kewaskum; eight sisters, Mary (Ken) Biertzer and Jeanne Knoeck, both of West Bend, Debra (David) Ray of Davenport, Iowa, Judith (Carl) Steiner, Janice (Alvin) Romaine, Susan (Tony) Butschlick, Rosalie (Larry) Williams and Teresa (Dennis) Fechter, all of Kewaskum.; his mother-in-law Arlene Schmidt of West Bend; his grandmother-in-law, Margaret Collien of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Mike (Gloria) Schmidt of Fond du Lac and Dennis Schmidt of West Bend; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceding him in death was his father-in-law, Chet Schmidt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. Father Mark Jones will officiate, and entombment with military rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the West Bend Softball Association are appreciated.
