Rollin Frank Risse, 89

Rollin Frank Risse, 89, a lifetime resident of Silver Creek, went to be home with his Savior on Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999 after a courageous battle with acute leukemia. He was at his residence surrounded by his family.

Rollin was born on Feb. 20, 1910 in Silver Creek, a son of the late Louis and Margarithia Wolf Risse.

On Feb. 20, 1936, he married Sarah "Sailor" Katheryn LeFever in Milwaukee. Rollin and Sailor owned and operated Risse Implement and Risse Hardware for 32 years.

After selling the business, Rollin worked as custodian for Random Lake Community Schools until retirement, after which Rollin and Sailor operated Sarah’s Upholstery until 1995.

Rollin received Christ as his personal Savior in 1964 and was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Adell until his death.

Rollin was a charter member of the Silver Creek Fire Department and a member of the West Bend Barber Shop.

Rollin is survived by his wife, Sarah; two sons, Dean (Jane) Risse of Silver Creek and Ron (Duanne) Risse of Little Koshler; one daughter, Jane (Ed) Wiebe of Fredonia; seven grandchildren, Todd (Debbie) Risse, Timm (Lori) Risse, Tammie (Jeff) Broin, Tom Risse, Shane Wiebe, Laura (Todd) Kraiss and Mona Risse; 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Rollin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Open Door Bible Church, 3420 Highway LL, Port Washington. Pastor Sid Litke will officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Silver Creek.

Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

A time of fellowship and light refreshment will follow at the Silver Creek Fire Hall on Highway 144 in Silver Creek at 6:30 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established in his memory.
