Funeral services will be held today at David's Star Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jackson, for Victor E. Bublitz, 73, who died at his home on Dec. 2, 1999.

Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m., with Rev. James Schulz officiating at the 2 p.m. funeral. Burial will be at David's Star Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.

Mr. Bublitz was born May 29, 1926 in Jackson, son of the late Christian and the late Ida (nee Heidtke) Bublitz. He married Beatrice Matter on May 22, 1948.

Mr. Bublitz worked as a meter tester for Badger Meter for 32 years. He belonged to three different card clubs for more than 50 years, was a member of the Quarter Century Club of Badger Meter and was also a member of the Jackson Senior Citizens. He also attended David's Star Lutheran Church.

Survivors include wife Beatrice Bublitz of Cedarburg; sons Robert (Linda) Bublitz of Grafton and Kenneth (Shirley) Bublitz of Cedarburg; daughter Sandy (Glenn) Thurs of Cedarburg; brothers Erwin (Lucy) Bublitz of Milwaukee and Rudolph (Roma) Bublitz of Grafton; grandchildren Jason (Kelly) Bublitz, Missy Bublitz and Mike Bublitz, all of Grafton, Laurie (Rob) Lewis of Port Washington, Carrie (Mike) Baumann of West Bend, Jody Bublitz of Cedarburg, and Jenny Thurs and Sarah Thurs, both of Cedarburg; great-grandchild Jacob Bauman of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
