Robert J. Kernler, 71, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.

He was born April 3, 1928, in Glidden, to the late Tony and Florice (Akins) Kernler, and married Roberta J. Majewski on Jan. 29, 1955, in Ashland.

He served with the U.S. Air Force, receiving a World War II Victory Medal in March of 1946, and was a member of the VFW Post 1393 of West Bend.

Robert worked at the Falk Corp. until retiring in 1986.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Robin (Rick) Brown and Rhonda (Michael) Sybeldon; a son, Robert J. Jr.; five grandchildren, Renee, Nicolette, Sami Jo, Byron and Julianne; a great-grandson, Shawn; a brother, E. Donald (Joyce); two nephews, Donald and Daniel; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend, with Pastor William Dushek officiating.

Visitation at the church only will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
