Eugene A. Achterberg of Hustisford passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999 at the age of 67 years. Gene was born March 18, 1932 in Portage, WI, son of Louis and Marie (nee Butterfield). He was married to Mary Braun, July 27, 1957 at St. John’s Ev. Church, in Rock Springs, Wisconsin. Gene is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Gene retired from AMPI where he worked for 32 years. He was a past commander of American Legion Post #420 of Hustisford. Gene was a great outdoorsman. He loved to fish, play golf, play cards and mow lawns in his spare time. Gene will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Braun) of Hustisford, his daughter Connie (Glenn) Woodward of Plymouth, IN and his son Robert (Martha) Achterberg of Hustisford. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon, Allison, Justin, Ryan (Brenda), Rachel, Nichole and Jesse, 3 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, and Hunter, his sister, Betty (Robert) Christenson of Portage, WI, his brothers, James (Mary) Achterberg, of Seattle, WA, and Charles (Joyce) Achterberg of Branson, MO, and other relatives and friends.
