She was born on Dec. 31, 1915 in Wisconsin to Michael and Anna (nee Lopata) Sobieski. Irene married Lucian "Joe" Lisocki on Nov. 9, 1935 at St. John’s Cantius Church in Sobieski. He preceded her in death. She married John Kurtz on Dec. 20, 1969 in Oconto. He also preceded her in death.

She is survived by son Joe (JoAnn); six grandchildren, James (Dawn) Wiseman, Jr. of Horicon, Sheila (Jeffrey) Wallendal of Horicon, Shawn (Jan) Wiseman of Richton, Miss., Matthew (special friend, Maureen) Lisocki of Hartford, Michael (special friend, Angie) Lisocki of Hartford and Marcus Lisocki of Hartford; and six great-grandchildren, Joshua Wallendal, Michelle Wallendal, Shawn Wiseman II, Brycie Wiseman, Cheyenne Wiseman, and Gracie Wiseman. Irene is further survived by brothers, sisters, other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Lisocki; second husband, John Kurtz; daughter Louise; brothers; and sisters.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St. (Hwy 83 N), Hartford. Family greeted relatives and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home.

Interment St. Kilian’s Cemetery, Hartford.
