Joan Carol Berger
Joan Carol Berger, nee Runge, 58, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004. She was born to the family of Clarence and Dorothy Runge on Dec. 9, 1946 in Milwaukee. Joan’s name was written in the Savior’s Book of Life through Holy Baptism at Walther Memorial Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Walter Memorial in 1960. In 1969 she married Richard Miller at Walther Memorial. Dick passed away in 1974 and Joan remarried in 1978 to Rev. James Berger. Jim passed away in 1997. Joan had worked for several years outside the home, most notably as a physical therapy aide at Deaconess Hospital in Milwau-kee and in later years as a rehab aide at Hartford Memorial Hos-pital. She took great pride in her work and loved the people she worked with, but Joan did her greatest work in the home, serving the Lord as a loving, devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her children, Amy (Joseph) Brinkman, Karen (Robert) Hernandez, Jonathan (Jane), Stephen (De-nise), Becky and Joseph Miller, Andrew (Nilda) and Benjamin Berger; and grandchildren, Lara, Nathan, Stephen, Samuel, Micah, Krista, Jesse, Thomas, Chloe, Emily, Noah, Marangeli and Adrianna. She was the dear sister of Robert (Annette) Runge, Ronald (Lorrie) Runge and Katherine (Arthur) Evert; and the loving daughter of Dorothy Jungherr and the late Clarence Runge. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 799 St. Paul Drive, Slinger. Visitation at the church will be Tuesday (today) from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park.
