Nickolas F. "Nick" Yogerst, 83, of West Bend, died on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at the Samaritan Health Center.

He was born on Dec. 12, 1921 in West Bend to the late Nick and Mary (nee Weiss) Yogerst, and married Bernice M. Freitag on May 28, 1949 in West Bend.

Nick was a lifelong resident of West Bend.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and for many years he worked in construction as a carpenter and a mason.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bernice; five children, Lucy Yogerst of Minneapolis, Daniel of Campbellsport, Beverly Yogerst of West Bend, Michael (Cathy) of Longmont, Colo. and Janet Verfuerth of West Bend; six grandchildren, Daniel Jr. and Derek Yogerst of West Bend, Corrynn (Warren) Mahnke of Eau Claire, Denise and Erin Yogerst of Longmont and Jeremiah Ver-fuerth of West Bend; a great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Mahnke; a brother, Math (Helen) of West Bend; a sister, Marion (Joe) Moser of Hiles; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Yogerst of Fond du Lac and Marion Yogerst of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Roman, Andrew and William; a sister, Rose Roden; three sisters-in-law, Marie Yo-gerst, Leona Yogerst and Evelyn Yogerst, and a brother-in-law, Joe Roden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church.

Rev. Jeffrey Haines will be the presider, and burial will be Thursday in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation at the church only will be on Wednesday from 4 until 6:45 p.m.

Masses or memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Church or the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.

The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.
