George D. Schaeffer, 60, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on July 8, 1944 in West Bend to the late Albert and Mildred (nee Hansen) Schaeffer.

George served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.

Survivors include a sister, Arlene (John) Vixmer of Taycheedah; a brother, Robert (Anna) of St. Kilian; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Richard in 1951 and his twin brother, PFC Gerold who was killed in action in Vietnam.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 27 at noon at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Old Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be on Monday from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m.
