Jean C. Hollrith King Jean C. Hollrith King, nee Syme, 83, of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at Tri-Manor in West Bend. She was born July 1, 1921 in Chisholm, Minn. to the late Alger and Helen (nee Croman) Syme and married William King in January of 1942 in Minneapolis. He passed away on Dec. 5, 2003. Jean attended the University of Minnesota and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. In 1959 the family moved to West Bend where she worked at The West Bend Co. and the General Clinic. She was also employed as a receptionist for Dr. Porter and Dr. Isermann. Jean enjoyed spending time as a volunteer in many different organizations. Her children lovingly acknowledge her legacy of the importance of education. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include five children, William (Barbara) of Ches-ter, N.H., Connie (Mike) Ham-mack of West Bend, Thomas (Chris) of Madison, Christine King and Stephen (Linda), both of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Brenda) Hammack, Doug (Stacy) Hammack, Jeff (Lisa) King, Ben (Colleen) King, Allison King, Stephanie King, Christopher King and Christina King; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Syme of St. Cloud, Minn, and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Alger, James and Joseph. Private family funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 20. Inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend assisted the family. Jean’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Tri-Manor for the kind and loving care given to Jean.
