Eleanor S. Lex

Eleanor S. Lex, nee Roseland, 95, of Lomira, formerly of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at her residence.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1909 in Minneapolis to the late Clarence and Caroline (Young) Roseland and was raised in Melrose.

After her marriage to Clell E. Williams on Aug. 29, 1929, the couple lived in Milwaukee.

Clell passed away July 7, 1941.

Eleanor then married Oliver W. Lex on Dec. 21, 1945 and lived in Milwaukee, later moving to Arizona in 1970.

Oliver passed away July 10, 1978.

Eleanor was a clerk at Gimbels Department Store of Milwaukee for over 20 years, retiring in 1970.

She was an officer of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son, Clifford (Rose) Lex of Lomira; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma (Merrill) West of Denver, Sara Dougherty of Libertyville, Ga. and Beverly Sampson of Sussex; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were six sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend.

Rev. Cal F. Seban will officite, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.
