Lucy Gardner

Lucy Gardner, nee Stone, 54, of Hartford, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004.

Survivors include her husband Bill; a son Tim (fiancˇe Toni) Stone; a daughter Stephanie (Jason) Schlad-weiler; her mother, Lucille Kadlec (nee Roubik); her grandchildren, Ali and Samantha Jo Schladwei-ler; three brothers, Ralph Stone, Bob Stone and Tom (Mary Ellen) Stone; two sisters, Betty Stone and Marie Stone; her nephews, Tony, Jonathan, Justin, Jared, and Riley Stone, and by other relatives and friends.

Lucy was preceded in death by her father, Ralph W. Stone, and by her stepfather Dr. George Kadlec.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 21, from noon to 2:15 p.m. at the Chandelier Ballroom, 150 Jeffer-son Ave., Hartford, followed by a service at 2:30 p.m. at the Ballroom. The Rev. Msgr. Tom Brady SJ will officiate.

After the visitation and services Lucy’s casket will be transported via hearse to the WSORs tracks (Grand Avenue) in Hartford and loaded onto the WSOR business train for her final and last train trip west.

After the train departs Grand Avenue, everyone is invited per Lucy’s request for dinner and drinks at the Chandelier Ballroom in celebration of her new life.

In honor of Lucy, WSOR will shut down all operations, with the exception of the Chicago jobs.

Lucy was a true friend, Bill’s soulmate, lover, partner in crime, and most of all, his conscience.

Lucy always put everyone first and herself last.

She was the secretary of Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Company (WSOR) and Gardner Realty.

The Gardner family learned in August that Lucy had terminal cancer. During her illness, many of you have offered her your thoughts, prayers, and support, and the Gardner family wishes to thank you.
