Edward R. Kozlowski Edward R. Kozlowski, age 89 years, passed away on Dec. 4, 2004. Beloved husband of the late Clara (nee Cira). Proud and loving papa of the twins, Diana (Scott) Kestly and Deirdre Lee. Grandpa of Michele, James and Marc Krestly, Christine Doyle (Dan). Great-grandfather of Connor Doyle. Ed was a resourceful and creative structural steel engineering, businessman and home builder. He taught us to be tender and loving, creative and compassionate, a true educator, giving us knowledge of everything from reading and praying to changing a tire, building a house, cooking turkey, meatloaf or decorating for Christmas. He was a last child of an old family and was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and George Kozlowski and his brothers and sisters, Joseph Walter, Anthony, Esther, Helen, John and Blanche. He is survived by Evelyn (Lenny) Fonder and his goddaughter, Barbara Michelini, and numerous other nephews and nieces. A disabled WWII veteran, Ed served as a technical sergeant in the coastal artillery in New York, San Francisco and Alaska. He completed officer candidate school; however, he was given a medical discharge being being commissioned. In 1947, the Milwaukee Journal sponsored an essay competition for a veteran to be selected to receive a lot of build a house. The Journal described Ed as resourceful and a pioneering spirit and followed the family's construction and move to their northwest-side home. He was founding vice president of Oak Creek Corp. and was preceded in death by his friends and business partners, Marvin Leubke and Al DeAmico. Deepest appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of the staffs of Alterra Clarebridge House, Elmbrook Hospital and Covenant Hospice Care. Services at a later date. Harder Funeral Home of Brookfield is assisting the family.
