Ron Groth

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 17 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton for Ron Groth, who lost his valiant battle with cancer on Friday, Dec.10, 2004 at the age of 64. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the service immediately following. The Rev. Franz Rigert will officiate at the service.

Mr. Groth was born in Milwaukee on July 17, 1940 to the late Roland and Lydia (Bosch) Groth and raised in Saukville.

He retired from Orion Corp. after 42 years of service and moved to his little piece of "Heaven on Earth" in Mercer, where he loved to fish for that elusive muskie and enjoy the peaceful view of the lake. He died like he lived, with dignity, in control, not complaining and with a sense of humor. The Lord took a great man home with Him. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marjorie, who battled alongside him for 14 months; children Pamela Cada (Kevin), Stefanie Meyers and Roger Groth (Ann); grandchildren Jarred Cada, Bryce, Makenzie, and Logan Meyers, Cody and Brady Groth; brother Richard Groth (Ruth); and many special and wonderful relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton or to the Medical College of Wisconsin for Esophageal Cancer Research (8701 Watertown Plank Road, Milwaukee, WI 53226).
