George W. Daniels

George W. Daniels, 91, of Lomira, formerly of West Bend, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

He was born on March 21, 1913 in Fond du Lac to the late Math and Mary (nee Thill) Daniels and married Eleanor A. Schraben on June 26, 1946 at St. John’s Church in Woodhull.

George served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre in World War II.

Following his discharge, the couple settled in Woodhull where he operated a welding and repair shop.

In 1951 they moved to West Bend where he was employed as a welder at West Bend Equipment Co. until his retirement in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eleanor; two children, Agnes (Mark) Gruenberger of Campbellsport and James (Cyn-thia) of Amston, Conn.; five grandchildren, Charles (Marie) Gruenberger, Ann Marie (Mike) Buck, Christine (James) Molden-hauer, Thomas Gruenberger and Jennifer Daniels; four great-grandchildren, Sarah Gruen-berger and Allison, Nicholas and Elizabeth Buck.

He is further survived by two sisters, Lucinda Lecher of Kewaskum and Sr. Agnes Daniels of Campbellsport; three sisters-in-law, Elvira Daniels of Mayville, Dorothy Daniels of Fond du Lac and Joyce (Darwin) Hoch of Ripon; a brother-in-law, Leo Ballwanz of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Edwin and Alex.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Burial will be Friday in Holy Angels Ceme-tery.

Visitation at the church only will be on Thursday from 1 until 2:45 p.m.
