Ethan E. Etta
Ethan E. Etta, 65, of Kohlsville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 in Green Bay. Since 1958, Ethan has been a loyal Packer fan and season ticket holder. He witnessed the victory on Sunday at Lambeau Field before entering eternal peace. Ethan was born in Sheboygan, to Earl and Dorothy (nee Firme) Etta on June 27, 1939, and was raised in Kewaskum. His favorite pastimes growing up were playing trumpet with the Kewaskum High School and State FFA bands, and showing prize-winning, Red Poll cattle across the United States. He also exhibited prize-winning hogs at the Washington County and State fairs, and continued the tradition with his children and grandchildren. He was a 1958 Kewaskum High School graduate. Ethan was employed at The West Bend Co. prior to a lifelong career in farming. Most recently, he was employed at TSB Bank. Ethan was very active in the Washington County 4-H and FFA programs, and worked on many committees on state and national levels. He was a past council member and president of the Zion Evan-gelical Lutheran Church. Ethan loved spending quality time with his wife and children, and cherished time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved wife, Judy Etta of Kohlsville; his dear children, Jill (Robert Jr.) Nieskes of Big Cedar Lake and Jon (Julie) Etta of Kohlsville; his cherished grandchildren, Kath-erine, Kevin, and Rachel Etta; his dear mother, Dorothy Etta of Kewaskum; his sister, DuAne (Normie) Dogs of West Bend; his brother, Perry Etta of Kewaskum; his mother-in-law, Lillian Oel-hafen of Kohlsville, and his uncle, Lloyd (Rita) Etta of Kewaskum. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his father, Earl, and his father-in-law, Harry Oelhafen. Funeral services in honor of Ethan will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at Zion Evangel-ical Lutheran Church, 6430 Highway D, Allenton. Pastor Steven D. Bode will officiate, and interment will take place in Zion Cemetery. Visitation with the Etta family will be held at the church on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family. |
