Irwin F. Kurtz Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton for Irwin F. Kurtz, 87, of Pierce, Neb., and formerly of Grafton and Cedarburg. He died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Pierce Manor in Pierce, Neb. Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family. Irwin was born on June 8, 1917 in Grafton to the late Charles and Ella (nee Opitz) Kurtz and married Gloria (nee Krueger) on April 27, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Irwin farmed in the Grafton area and also worked at Rostad Aluminum Factory in Grafton. He also was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. He is survived by his wife Gloria of Pierce, Neb.; son Neal (Janis) Kurtz of Pierce, Neb.; daughters Sharon (Uldis) Karklin of Wheaton, Ill., and Donna (the Rev. Glenn) Lucas of Santa Clarita, Calif; sister Eda Miller of Grafton. Preceded in death by three brothers. He is further survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Instate at the church on Saturday from noon until time of service.
