David R. Harmsen David R. Harmsen, 69, of Cedarburg and Minoqua, passed away at Milwaukee Hospice surrounded by the love of his family on Dec. 8, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 14, 1935 in Waupun to the late Jacob and Jennie Harmsen. He was a retired Homestead High School physics teacher, avid golfer and clubmaker. He enjoyed the beauty of this earth through hunting, musky fishing and numerous outdoor activities. He touched countless lives through his career, his involvement in the community and his many hobbies. He enjoyed many close relationships with his dear family and friends. He was a frequent volunteer for Special Olympics and a longtime member of Ozaukee Fish & Game. In life, family was the most important thing to Dave and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lorna; son Scott (Tammy) Harmsen of Pewaukee; daughter Brenda (Christopher) Behlmer of Menomonee Falls; grandchildren Jenna, Alyssa and Jacob Harmsen; brothers Wesley of Waupun, Gerald (Ardell) of Waupun and Ken (Linda) of Fox Lake; sister Jane (Gary) Spiering of Fond du Lac; brother-in-law Ed (Kathy) Roeder of Marinette. Further survived y many nieces and nephews. A memorial services was held Dec. 11 at Community United Methodist Church in Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Special Olympics, 10224 N. Port Washington Road, No. 13 Mequon, 53092 or Community Methodist Church, Cedarburg, are appreciated. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, Thiensville, assisted the family with arrangements.
