Irene T. Schaefer (nee Horn), 94, of West Bend died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1910 in Jackson to the late William and Selma (nee Graff) Horn and married Leslie C. Schaefer on March 2, 1930 at Peace U.C.C. Church in Kewaskum. Leslie preceded her in death in 1992.

They settled in West Bend following their marriage. She worked at various factories and at a grocery store in the bakery department.

Irene was also involved at the Washington County Senior Center in West Bend.

Survivors include three grandchildren, William (Belinda) Schaefer of Perrysburg, Ohio, Michael Schaefer of Green Bay and Mark (Lori) Schaefer of Appleton, and six great-grandchildren, Kyle, Abbey, Lacy, Michelle, Samuel and Benjamin. She is further survived by a sister Audrey Mueller of Niagara, Wis.; her daughter-in-law Carol Schaefer of West Bend; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends

Irene was preceded in death by her son Loyal Schaefer.

Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. David Schoob officiating. Burial will follow in Peace U.C.C. Cemetery in Kewaskum. Visitation will be today, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Samaritan Health Center are appreciated.
