Donald E. Wagner Donald E. Wagner, 76, of Hartford, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center of Hartford. Donald was born on Dec. 2, 1928 to the late William and Meta (nee Bohn) Wagner in the town of Polk, where he was also raised on the family homestead, and lived until five years ago. He was a dedicated dairy farmer for 25 years, and also worked at Menasha Corp. of Hartford for 13 years. Donald’s favorite pastimes were fishing and dancing; he and the love of his life, Caroline, would dance for hours on end. He served with the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955, during the Korean Conflict. Donald was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Slinger and the Catholic Order of Forresters. Survivors include his loving wife, and best friend, Caroline R."Carol" (nee Pivonka) Wagner of Hartford; two dear daughters, Barbara Wagner of Manassas, Va. and Judy Wagner of Hartford; a brother, George (Agnes) Wagner of the town of Hartford; his special canine companion, "Betsy," and his niece, Linda Wagner of Albuquerque, N.M. He is further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of Donald on Thursday, Dec. 9, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 202 E. Washing-ton St., Slinger, at 6 p.m. Father Richard J. Stoffel will officiate and a private interment of ashes will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. The hours of visitation with the family will be on Thursday 4 p.m. until the time of the Mass at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
