Jane E. Capelle Jane E. Capelle, nee Wollen-zien, 84, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at the Samaritan Health Center. Jane was born on Sept. 24, 1920 in Waukesha to the late Martin and Jessie (nee Hahn) Wollenzien and was raised in Waukesha. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1940 and in 1944 graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College. After her marriage to Merlin F. Capelle on June 3, 1944 at the First Lutheran Church in Temple, Texas, the couple lived in Madison before moving to West Bend in 1950. Her husband passed away on July 12, 2000. Jane taught in local public schools before taking a position with Moraine Park Technical College where she taught mathematics until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend as well as St. John's Ladies' Guild. Jane was also a 50-year member of a local bridge club. Survivors include four children, John (Wanda) Capelle of West Bend, Alan (Sue) Capelle of Oregon, Wis., Eileen Capelle of Fond du Lac and Emily Capelle of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Devine, Sarah, Ali-son and Rebecca Capelle and Nathan Lange; a brother, Don Wollenzien of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Sorenson of Madison and Delores Anderson of Janesville; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was a brother, Harold Wollenzien. Funeral services will be held today, Friday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation at the church will be today from noon until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service of West Bend is assisting the family.
