She was born on Jan. 1, 1928 to Herbert and Esther (nee Radtke) Zimmerman. She married Alfred (Leggie) Nickel on Nov. 1, 1947 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River church) in the town of Theresa. She and her husband farmed in the town of Theresa. She was a life-long member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; daughter Linda (Gary) Hetzer of Iola; son Daniel (Karen) Nickel of Iron Ridge; a sister, Agnes (Ed) Scott of Denver; brothers, Elsmer (Dorothy) Kluge of Mayville and Marvin Kluge of Iron Ridge; seven grandchildren, Tammy (Jeff) Decker, Heidi (Tom) best, Scott (Cindy) Hetzer, Tod (Dr. Casey) Hetzer, Brent Nickel, Tammy (Greg) Schellpheffer and Kari (Pat) Hurley; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa, with Rev. Mark Berlin officiating. Visitation was on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Interment Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
