Shirley M. Michalica

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at Riveredge Nature Center, Highway Y, in Newburg from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5 for Shirley M. Michalica, 75, of Cedarburg, who died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at Cedar Springs Health Center in Cedarburg after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 29, 1929 in Port Washington to the late Roland and Mildred (Lied) Fellenz.

On June 14, 1952 she married Walter Michalica.

Shirley was a retired teacher and counselor. Her love of nature was reflected in her hobbies of photography, artwork, painting and camping.

Survivors include: daughter Barb (Mike) Wallisch of West Bend; sons Steve (Mary) of Cedarburg, Dan of Grafton and Pete (Linda) of Brown Deer; sister Marion Jablonski of Milwaukee; brother Ronald Fellenz of Port Washington. Further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Fellenz.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to Riveredge Nature Center or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
