She was born on Feb. 2, 1915 in the town of Trenton to the late Henry and Hulda (nee Zinke) Schlegel, and was united in marriage to Lester Krause on Aug. 27, 1942 at Christ Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Together they farmed in the town of Farmington until retiring in 1977.

Lester passed away on Jan. 22, 1989, after which Ruby moved to West Bend.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Elaine Krause of Fredonia; two grandchildren, Ken (Tina) Krause of Fredonia, and Carrie (Rick Miller) Krause of Kewaskum; two great-grandchildren, Kirsten Krause and Kaitlyn Miller; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Dunst of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, Gene, and a brother, Clarence.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Victor Hackbarth will officiate, and cremation will take place at Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Fillmore Union Cemetery, on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
