He was born on July 16, 1917 in Wyocena to the late Richard and Emma (Forbush) Babcock, and on Feb. 11, 1939 he married Catherine E. Skeffington at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Milwaukee.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine E. "Bettie" of West Bend; two daughters, Patricia (Dan) Hickey of Hudson, Ohio and Kathleen (Richard) Roberts of Grafton; four grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Pfeiffer, Craig (Anne Chase) Roberts, Paul (Maria) Grimm and Jennifer (Richard) Carroll; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 3 p.m. at Cedar Ridge of West Bend, 113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.
