Harry John Romano

Harry John Romano of Slinger passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 at St. Luke's Medical Center. He was 71 years old.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1932 in Orange, N.J. to Joseph and Rose (nee Francescone) Romano. He graduated from Orange High School in 1950 and then attended Seton Hall University, where he earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He married Barbara Koester in Newark, N.J. He was a doctoral degree candidate at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee while serving as superintendent of schools in Germantown from 1972 to 1978. From 1978 until the present he was the owner of Scenic View Country Club in Slinger. He was the past president of the Germantown Rotary Club and was active in various organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; five children, Dawn (Ron) Bloomer of Slinger, Renee (Tory) Rodrigues of Monroe Township, N.J., Peter Romano of Milwaukee, Frank (Rebecca) Romano of Slinger and Eric Romano of Madrid, Spain; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank (Rose) Romano of Richfield and Pat (Terry) Romano of Union, N.J. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Hill in the Chapel of St. Therese with Fr. Fred Alexander, O.C.D. officiating. Visitation was at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger on Friday, Dec. 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Interment took place at St. Augustine Cemetery of Hubertus following the Mass.
