Rudyard "Rudy" Radloff

Rudyard "Rudy" Radloff of Hustisford passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at the age of 78 years.

He was born on March 17, 1925, the son of Roland and Lenore (nee Roeseler) Radloff. He married Lucia Drachenberg on May 24, 1947 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford. Mr. Radloff was a third generation cheese maker and president of Max P. E. Radloff, Inc., "Radloff Cheese" which was founded in 1894. He was the grandson of the founder Max P. E. Radloff. Rudy was a past assistant fire chief of Hustisford and was instrumental in developing the baseball field at Fireman’s Park in Hustisford. He was a past player-manager of the Rock River Hustisford baseball team and a lifetime member of the Rock River Old Timers Association. He played on and coached the Hustisford basketball city team. Rudy served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and later in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hustisford American Legion Post 420 and a lifetime member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. He was a past director and president of the Hustisford State Bank and served on the board for 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Lorraine Mueller.

Rudy was the dearest husband of Lucia (nee Drachenberg) Radloff; and loving father of Mark (fiancˇe Judy Schaefer) Radloff of Hustisford, Kevin (Dawn) Radloff of Hustisford and Jay (Mary Beth) Radloff of Menomonee Falls. He was the dear brother of Wanda (John) Starr of Hustisford. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrea (Kevin) Stoner of Preston, Mo., Jon (Jennifer) Radloff of Milan, Ill., Amanda (Travis) Zubke of Lexington, N.C., , Rebecca (Adam) Davis of Ironwood, Mich., and Allison and Bryce Radloff of Hustisford; by his great-grandchildren, Max and Evelyn Stoner, Kiley, McKenna and Leah Zubke, and Hailey Radloff.; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Visitation was on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustisford, and Wednesday, Dec. 31 from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral service followed at 2 p.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Timothy Bauer and Rev. David Pries officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.
