Patricia A. Dulmes Such

Patricia A. Dulmes Such, 45, of Cascade (town of Mitchell), passed away peacefully among her family early Friday evening, Dec. 26, at her home after a valiant struggle with cancer.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1958 in Sheboygan, to LaMonte and Minnie Mae (Brehm) Dulmes.

Growing up in Adell, she graduated from Random Lake High School in 1976, and received a bachelor’s degree in home economics education (K-12) from Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, in 1980.

During that year, she worked with inner-city youth for the Milwaukee County UW-Extension. Pat then became the UW-Extension Kewaunee County Home Economist from 1980-1985.

During 1985, Pat moved to East Lansing, Mich. to attend graduate school at Michigan State University where she received a master’s of art degree in family economics and management in 1988.

From 1987-1989, Pat resided in Ann Arbor, Mich., working with the Michigan Agenda for Consumer Education, at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.

Pat moved back to Wisconsin in 1989 to become the corporate and community representative for the West Bend campus of Moraine Park Technical College.

She most recently served as the director of Moraine Park’s newly created Applied Manufacturing and Technology Center in West Bend.

During her career, Pat received numerous awards and recognition, including The Emerging Leader’s Award from Michigan State University, Professional Excellence Award from the Wisconsin Vocational Association, and the Chapter President Service Award from the National Management Association.

Pat participated in and had leadership positions in many organizations including The Association for Career and Technical Education, Wisconsin and Moraine Park Vocational Associations, Leadership Greater West Bend Alumni, West Bend Professional Women’s Organization, Personnel Management Association-Washington/Ozaukee counties, Kettle Moraine Management Association, Milwaukee Council for Adult Learning, Wisconsin Aging Education Consortium and the American Society of Training and Development.

Following an initial bout with cancer in 1996, Pat married her long time friend, Dave Such. In 1997, their miracle baby, Traverse Luke, was born.

Pat enjoyed life and was a loving mommy, wife and daughter. She loved to travel with the family and enjoyed gardening and living in the country.

Survivors include her loving husband, Dave Such; her son: Traverse Luke Such, at home; her parents, LaMonte and Minnie Mae Dulmes of Adell; her parents-in-law, Charles and Amy Belle Such of Germantown; her brother-in-law, William Such of Germantown; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Chaplain Ellyn Wheeler of the Visiting Nurses Association, will officiate, and cremation will follow the services.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 p.m. un til the time of services.

A memorial fund is being established in her name for cancer education directed at melanoma at its early detection, or for her son’s education fund.
