Michael J. Peyton
Michael J. Peyton, 57, of West Bend, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa. He was born on Sept. 21, 1946 in Decorah, Iowa to the late Earl and Vera (nee Fischer) Peyton, and married Teresa Sgroi in New London on June 12, 1971. After graduating from high school, Mike attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa for two years before enlisting in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he came to Wisconsin and received his degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Mike was employed with Towne Realty for over 30 years. Due to his job, he and his family had lived in California and Hawaii, returning to Wisconsin six years ago. Mike loved golf, and also the Green Bay Packers, attending many games over the years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg of West Bend; three brothers and three sisters, Mary Ann (Dave) Pladsen of Vinton, Iowa, Richard (Sue) of Trussville, Ala., Patrick (Deb) of Missouri City, Texas, and Rosalie Kilpatrick, Elizabeth (Ron) Brockman and Dennis (Kathy), all of Rochester, Minn.; his mother-in-law, Ethel Hirschboeck of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Mary Jo (Dennis) Levitsky of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Mark (Lynda) Hirschboeck of St. Paul, Cynthia (John) Holik of West Bend and Paul (Michelle) Hirschboeck of St. Paul; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his father-in-law, Anthony Sgroi, his stepfather-in-law, Stephen Hirschboeck; and a brother-in-law, Tom Hirschboeck. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, West Bend. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery (new.) Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and also on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
