Harry John Romano
Harry John Romano, 71, of Slinger, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born on Nov. 13, 1932 in Orange, N.J. to the late Joseph and Rose (Francescone) Romano, graduating from Orange High School in 1950 before going on to receive BA and MA degrees from Seton Hall University. Harry was a doctoral degree candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee while serving as superintendent of schools in Germantown from 1972-’78. From 1978 to the present he was the owner of Scenic View Country Club in Slinger. Harry was also the past president of the Germantown Rotary Club and was active in various organizations. He married Barbara Koester in Newark, N.J. Survivors include his wife; five children, Dawn (Ron) Bloomer of Slinger, Renee (Tory) Rodrigues of Monroe Township, N.J., Peter Romano of Milwaukee, Frank (Rebecca) Romano of Slinger and Eric Romano of Madrid, Spain; five grandchildren; two brothers, Frank (Rose) Romano of Richfield and Pat (Terry) Romano of Union, N.J.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were two sisters and a brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Hill (under the main church) in the chapel of St. Therese. Father Fred Alexander O.C.D. will officiate, and interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Hubertus. Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, will be on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to the Golf Foundation of Wisconsin (GFW.org) First Tee Program - Bridging the Gap.
