Oliver C. "Ollie" Funk Oliver C. "Ollie" Funk of Hartford passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at the Aurora Medical Center Hartford. He was 75 years old. He was born on Aug. 19, 1928 in North Lake to Floyd and Laura (nee Staus) Funk. Ollie married Mary Ann Schnorenberg on Sept. 2, 1950 at the St. Kilian’s Parsonage. In his younger years he was a member of the National Guard and played baseball for the city of Hartford Hardball team for many years. He owned and operated Kettle Moraine Builders where he was a general contractor for 35 years. Ollie loved hunting at his cabin in the woods up north, traveling, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Ann; two daughters, Dawn (Dennis) Schauer of Hartford and Jane (Al) Dais of Rubicon; six grandchildren, Tracy (John) Loosen, Deanna (Jon) Lang, Crystal Schauer (special friend Brian Odenwald), Darrin Schauer, Jared Dais, and Nicholas Dais; great-granddaughter, Cassidy Loosen; and three sisters, Virginia Selsing of Hartford, Doris (Don) Williams of Illinois, and Lois (Don) Ehley of Hartford. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ollie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lee and Merrill Funk; an infant sister; and brother-in-law Charles Selsing. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 738 W. Monroe Ave., Hartford with Rev. Arv Arveson officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First United Methodist Church Building or Memorial Fund or the American Heart Association appreciated. Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.
