David Krueger

A Memorial Service was held Friday, Dec. 19 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Slinger for David Krueger, formerly of Cedarburg and Gordon, who passed away at Cedar Community in West Bend on Dec. 15, 2003 at the age of 77. The Rev. Rick Lawrence officiated at the ceremony. Burial of cremains was in Immanuel Cemetery, Cedarburg. A Gathering of Remembrance took place before the service, Friday at the church. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Krueger was born in Cedarburg on April 8, 1926, son of Allen and Verna Staeven Krueger. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea, and was united in marriage with Delores Hillmann on May 17, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. He operated Cedar Oil in Cedarburg until 1976, when the family moved to Gordon and he became a petroleum inspector for the State of Wisconsin. He retired after 16 years, in 1992. In 1998 the couple moved to the West Bend area. Mr. Krueger was a member at St. Luke Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of American Legion Post 499 and was a member of Alte Kameraden for more than 50 years.

Survivors include: wife Delores of West Bend; daughter Rachel (Kenneth) Grasse of Colgate, son, Andrew (Karen) Krueger of Belgium; sisters Nancy Lange of Cedarburg, Marlene (The Rev. Paul) Baehmann of Marthasville, Mo., Carol (Frank) Runkel of Grafton and Mary (Doug) Anderle of Adell; brother Daniel Krueger of Plymouth.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan.
