LeRoy Schladweiler LeRoy Schladweiler, 79, a lifelong resident of the town of Farmington, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born on Oct. 20, 1924 in the town of Farmington to the late Jacob P. and Elizabeth (Schneider) Schladweiler, and on Sept. 11, 1954 was united in marriage to Gertrude Schmidt at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Barton. LeRoy was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels. He had a passion for farming and farmed in the town of Farmington all of his life. He was also employed for a number of years with the Gehl Co. and Kriers Preserving and he also did butchering for his family and many friends. LeRoy enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, playing sheepshead and sitting in the warmth of the sun. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and many friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Gertrude; seven children, Gary (Doris) Schladweiler of the town of Farmington, Jeff (Teresa) Schladweiler and Eric Schladweiler, both of the town of Scott, Susan (Steven) Cotter of Waldo, Judy (Greg) Melius of Batavia, Elizabeth (Steve) Weyker of Fredonia and Jane (Brian) Ries of Lomira; two brothers, Al Schladweiler of Silver Creek and Arnold Schladweiler of the town of Farmington; two sisters, Ione Kohlman of West Bend and Estelle (Ralph) Matenaer of the town of Farmington; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a brother, Clemens Schladweiler, and five sisters, Mildred Wolf, Bernice Van Beek, Marcella Schmidt, Viola Schoenbeck and Delores Van Beek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels, with burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.
