Elizabeth "Betty" Nicolaus Elizabeth "Betty" Nicolaus, 90, of Cedarburg passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation, Cedarburg. She was born on Oct. 25, 1913 in Jackson to the late Peter Amacher and Emma Schramm. She married the late Arnold Nicolaus on Sept. 16, 1933 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, and their marriage was blessed with two daughters. Betty was a longtime active member at St. John’s, and she loved quilting, playing sheepshead and eating at Jimmy’s Restaurant in Jackson. She worked for Sprague Electric for over 25 years as well as working on the farm for many years. Survivors include her daughters, Darlene (Arnold "Huns") Kaul of Grafton and Carla (James) Volz of Cedarburg; a sister, Dorothy (Seth) Liebenstein of Grfton; a half-brother, Leonard (Ramona) Bierlein of the state of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Maxine Amacher; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jackson. Rev. Paul Mittermaier will officiate, and interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Jackson. Visitation at the church will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund are appreciated. The Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is assisting the family.
