Bernhardt C. Schmidt A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Bernhardt C. Schmidt of Grafton, who died peacefully at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee campus on Dec. 14, 2003 at the age of 74. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service with burial immediately following at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton. Rev. John Suelflow will officiate at the ceremony. Mr. Schmidt was born in Mellen on June 11, 1929, the son of the late Emil and Mari (nee Busse) Schmidt. He retired from the 440th Air Force Base at Mitchell Field in Milwaukee where he worked as Base Civil Engineer Supervisor. He was also a member of the Grafton American Legion Post. His favorite hobbies were horseshoes and woodworking. Survivors include: children Diane, Chuck and Stacy of Grafton, Victoria Cook of Crivitz; grandchildren James and Jeremy Cook of Crivitz. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan (nee Heim) Schmidt.
