She was born on Oct. 31, 1911 in Palmer, Neb. to the late John and Anna Marie (nee Madsen) Johnson, and married Vaughn Brown on Feb. 18, 1931 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Her husband passed away on Feb. 9, 1984.

Survivors include two daughters, Edith (John) Lund of New Berlin and Dolores Brown of Riverside, Calif.; four grandchildren, John (Shaun) Lund, Kristin (Dale) Licau, Michael Chybowski and Carol Ann Chybowski; three great-grandchildren, Mira Lund, Emily Lund and Alexander Licau; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Emily and Pearl; and two brothers, Elmer and Vernon.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. at St. Martin’s United Church of Christ in Fillmore.

Chaplain Cheryl Matusiak of Heartland Hospice will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Martin’s Union Cemetery, Fillmore.

Visitation at the church will be on Wednesday from noon until the time of services.
