Jay Raymond Dusenbery A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of West Bend for Jay Raymond Dusenbery of West Bend, who died on Dec. 8, 2003 at the age of 84. The Rev. Oscar Kraft will officiate at the ceremony. Entombment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend. The Phillip Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Dusenbery was born April 17, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio to Raymond and Ula (nee Overton) Dusenbery. He married Ellen Halverson on Oct. 7, 1942 in San Francisco, Calif. He served 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate 1st Class during World War II. He was a devoted volunteer in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County. He was a dedicated leader, actively involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. He was the owner/operator of Ozaukee Heating Company. He was also a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Varsity Club. Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Ellen; children Dennis Dusenbery of Albuquerque, N.M., Richard "Rick" Dusenbery of West Bend, Jean (Stephen) Williams of Grand Marais, Minn.; grandchildren Geoff, Jill and Tim Dusenbery, Sarah, Erin and Kimberly Williams; daughter-in-law Becky Dusenbery of Albuquerque, N.M; brother Larry (Kay) Dusenbery of Websters Grove, Mo.; sister Cherry (Henry) Orth of Arizona. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Memorials are appreciated to Wis. Alzheimer’s Research of Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
