Shirley was born in West Bend on May 14, 1937 to the late Hilbert and Alma (Stern) Roell, and on Oct. 25, 1958 she was united in marriage to Robert M. Beck in Wauwatosa.

Shirley was a registered nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee and later at Kenosha Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1987, at which time she and Robert moved to Legend Lake in Keshena.

Shirley was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano, and she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; and two brothers, Vernon (Kathi) Roell of West Bend and Wayne (Sherri) Roell of Saukville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, Shawano.

Rev. Marti Black will officiate, and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
